Patty, Roxanne, Sandra and Cindy

The cafeteria staff at Phalen Lake Elementary has a combined total of more than 45 years of service. The four staff members serve 520 lunches and 230 breakfasts a day.

The staff members have special connections to their school. Cindy’s daughter attended Phalen Lake as a child and is now a kindergarten teacher there. Roxanne and her children all attended Phalen Lake, and Sandra’s children currently attend the school.

Cheesebread is a favorite breakfast item for both students and staff because it tastes great! Salads are a lunch favorite of all because of the great variety available and because the salads are made with love.

According to Cafeteria Supervisor Cindy Dudeck, her staff is special because they care about their job and the kids. They like to come to work and that shines through with the quality of food they prepare and their interactions with students and staff. Cindy says that her staff is her extended family and they enjoy working with each other. She also says that people would be surprised to know that both Patty and Roxanne are grandmothers; Patty has two grandchildren and Roxanne has one.
